Cutting Update

WOW IT ROOTED ALREADY? Pretty fast by my standards of cuttings O_O

Coleus rooted in water. Took only a week.

Why does this photo remind me of Jurassic Park? lol

So since now I know these tubes can root cuttings with no trouble I now can….

Several cuttings being rooted in water. the round green leaf at the back is an African Violet (Saintpaulia) the tiny plant in the "R" of ROOT is a double impatiens, and ALL the other plants are Coleus

BARRAGE THE TEST TUBES WITH PLANTS >8D Muahaahahahahaaaa. These are cuttings are from my best selection of seed-grown Coleus (*sniffle* my babies are so beautiful *lol*) along with a double impatiens and a green spiderplant. You don’t see alot of green spiderplants among gardeners, well at least in my neck of the woods. The only downside I have with this test tube rooting method is the fact that you have to water daily for the big leaved plants like the coleus. They just suck up the water like a sponge.

Alittle bit after I had posted the previous plant post I had discovered MEALYBUGS eating away at my hoyas!! I’m guessing they came from the new succulents I had bought at the time. For now I’m keeping them in check with soap water (and thanks to my mom now I’m using RAID on the plants that don’t like soap baths…. can you say “RAID?!” without picturing ants? Raid Ant ) but it’ll be another week or so before I’ll be sure that I’ve won the battle. Speak of the devil I actually was being plagued with ANTS in the apartment as well! Dear god they were swarming all over the place until I was able to get some ant traps. Hopefully they’ll be eradicated from the insecticide as well.
